Cholla skeleton is the internal structure of a variety of cactus growing in the Sierra Nevada Desert and the Sonoran Desert of northern Mexico.

Cholla trees can be safely used in terrariums, aviaries and hermit crab displays. Cholla can be used in aquariums, however as the wood is rather soft it will rot over time and release tannins.
